David Gage String Instruments:

The 2009-2010 season of The Workshop Series at David Gage is starting up in grand style with a presentation by Downbeat’s “Bassist of the Year,” Christian McBride.The workshop is scheduled for the 23rd of September at 7:15pm. The event will be open to the public, but seating is limited.

And the way the schedule is filling in -- with Lynn Seaton on October 14 and Ron Carter on November 4 -- it is looking like a banner year for The Workshop Series at David Gage.

The 2008-2009 season of The Workshop Series at David Gage featured Carlos Henriquez, L'Orchestre de Contrebasses, Esperanza Spalding and Ben Allison. If you want to catch up on any of this season's (and last season's) workshops that you might have missed, you can always view them on Mike’s Master Classes.

Last year's lineup included Ron Carter, Francois Rabbath, Ben Wolfe, Drew Gress, Jim Stinnett and Tim Cobb presenting exciting, inspiring and informative workshops on such topics as  "Introduction to The New Technique and The Art of The Bow" (Rabbath) to "Audition Techniques" (Cobb).

The great news is that it is not too late to see any and all of those workshops!!
